The location and height above sea level make Krvavec an easily accessible retreat from the summer heat of the cities, providing mild temperatures and fresh Alpine air. In addition to the beautiful countryside and the unique atmosphere of Alpine pastures, Krvavec affords wonderful views of the Ljubljana valley and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The varied terrain of the ski resort turns into an oasis for hikers and mountain-bikers in summer, while paragliders add additional flair. Krvavec is also well-known for its numerous herbal and other medicinal plants, which colour the meadows in summer. A pleasant hike to Plečnik’s chapel, which was built in 1929, is a popular option. 

Meeting the present and the past of Krvavec while hiking

The Path of History connects the most interesting historical and tourist attractions of Krvavec. The history and development fo cable railway transportation on Krvavec, pasturage, the renowned architect Plečnik's Chapel of St Mary of the Snow, numerous medicinal herbs and the Krvavec archaeological site are all presented in detail on this path.

This path begins at the top cable car station at Gospinca and leads to the Tiha valley, proceeding towards the Marija Snežna chapel near the Krvavec aerial array. The circular path continues towards Kriška planina and ends at the top cable car station at Gospinca.

Starting at Ambrož pod Krvavcem, this trail leads to Kriška planina by way of Jezerca mountain. From there the path continues to the aerial array at Krvavec.

From the top cable car station at Gospinca the path leads past the Tiha valley to
Razor (1908 m) and from there the path leads to the Veliki Zvoh lake (1971 m).
