RTV TRANSMITTER

The building of the highest Radio and Television (RTV) Slovenia centre, including devices and sistem for receiveing and transmitting signals, together with 100 m high antenna tower stands on Krvavec mountain at the altitude of 1.740 m.
Transmitting started on 14th of February 1957, when Siemens transmitter with 250 W power was being brought on Krvavec mountain from Ljubljana castle.
Transmitting centre Krvavec is the largest and the most important transmitting centre in Slovenia, covering the area from the hill Kum at the east, Ljubljana bassin, the area to Nanos mountain and to the border Slovenia-Italy_Austria at the northwest. It supplies a large TV and Radio network on extensive part of Slovenia. The Krvavec transmitter is also important for international networks.
